The Pencil
This pencil was made for revision, for drawing and redrawing until an idea revealed itself. Its wood is scarred from sharpening, and its graphite never snaps, no matter how heavily it’s pressed.
It was found in the margins of a sketchbook filled with questions rather than answers. Every page showed revisions layered atop one another, yet no page was erased completely. The pencil lay neatly across the centre fold, as though placed there deliberately, waiting for the next hand to continue.
When used, the pencil allows mistakes to exist without consequence, and erased marks leave gentle shadows behind. Many believe this pencil teaches patience reminding its user that ideas are not lost when they change, only defined.
